This challenging 1875 Victorian had two bathrooms and both had structural challenges. The downstairs bathroom had a poured concrete slab floor that oddly had been added to over time. In addition to that, water had eroded the dirt under the slab, so that needed to come out and be repoured and releveled. Because of the age of the house, nothing was level and every wall had its own out-of-levelness. We had to meld that together so as not to be apparent to the naked eye. As a testimony to the house, we removed and restored the original tub and original sinks and then inset them into marble counters for greater functionality. We found a late 1800s leaded glass window transom from Ohio to install above the downstairs tub. It adds light and character to the bath.
