This addition had been tacked on and used as storage, but the homeowners wanted it to become a large, luxurious master bath. After raising the roofline and adding a large window, the room became much more spacious without increasing the footprint. The galley-style space was divided into three areas – sink, shower, and toilet – each separated with a pocket door.
We built a large walk-in shower out of creamy marble, and added an awning window and glass shower door to add more light and spaciousness.
The vanity is the jewel of the room: a “floating” Santa Cecilia granite slab ties together the yellow wall, creamy marble shower, and gray slate floor. The look was finished off with amber vanity lights and his and her mirrors.
